MCC Daybreak is the 2008 Angus Sire Alliance Winner and #2 bull for the overall Profitability Index. He sires cattle that excel for the economically relevant traits of beef production including calving ease, growth, feed efficiency, and carcass merit. He ranks in the top 1% of all bulls tested at Circle A for Feed Efficiency and the top 7% for tenderness. In addition, our within herd data for heifer pregnancy look promising. Higher Standard is a bull that is proving his worth from a maternal perspective.  He offers no miss calving ease, solid growth, and transmits a very pleasing phenotype.  We have only used him clean-up, but have been impressed enough with the calves that he has earned herd sire status.  He has a great disposition, good feet and actually sired two of the kids show heifers this year.  We have been very impressed with the young females to date.  His pedigree combines three strong maternal lines of cattle. Semen available through ABS.

MCC Relevance is the last natural calf we had out of Daybreak’s dam. Like Daybreak, he posted incredible individual performance – 90 BW ratio, 106 WW ratio, 111 YW ratio, 114 IMF, 113 REA ratio. He was the high selling bull in our 2009 Bull Sale.  We used him heavily natural service last summer and are impressed with his first calves.  They came light and are one of our fasting growing sire groups so far. Pfizer’s 50K DNA test indicates he should be, like his brother, one of the high profitability sires within the Angus breed.  Semen available through Genex.

MCC Breakaway combines the curvebender performance and carcass merit of Daybreak with one of our favorite D806 daughters. Breakaway offers a different pedigree for a lot of breeders today with outstanding performance ratios across the board, backed by a cow with an impeccable record and a super phenotype to boot. Our partners on the bull are Tehama Angus Ranch, CA, RA Brown Ranch, TX and Genex.

You simply don’t find bulls with this extreme calving ease, growth and carcass combination. 16 CED, +.59 REA, over $30 $W, and over $68 $B is unique! He ranks in the top 1% of the Angus breed for CED, BW and MCE. His Pfizer data further substantiates his low BW genetics in addition to 3 generations of low birth weight cow families in his pedigree. Maternally, he is in the lowest 25% of the breed for yearling height, while ranking the top 25% of the breed for SC, backed by a dam with super udder quality and is ideal for Milk EPD whether using him to create Angus or Simmental genetics. He ranks in the top 20% of the breed for marbling, top 3% for REA, and top 10% for $W and top 2% for $B. He scanned 5.51 IMF at .21 in of rib fat while posting 1.3 REA/CWT. MCC Daybreak 0005 is moderate framed, super attractive, and good footed. He is a no-miss heifer bull that will create cattle with value throughout the production chain.  Semen available through Allied Genetic Resources.

One of Daybreaks best sons phenotypically, out of a never miss cow family.  This bull is big bodied, soft middle, with tons of muscle shape.  He is super sound with eye-appeal to burn.  Data wise, he jumped through all the hoops.  We feel he has the potential to replace his sire as a calving ease sire that adds value.  Semen available through the RA Brown Ranch.

MCC SuperMan was the high selling bull in our 2010 Sale .  He is a bull we feel confident will make more SuperMama’s along with cattle that will work throughout the entire beef production system.  His dam has an impeccable production record, beautiful udder quality, and is massive – a real SuperMama herself.  The entire flush of these full brothers were powerful and consistent.

Our newest Simmental herd sire!  He offers an outcross pedigree along with testing heterozygous black and homozygous polled.  Out of a very moderate cow with a nice production record, he started life with a 77 lb. BW, 112 WW ratio, 101 YW ratio, 38.5 SC, and had the 3rd highest REA in Wilkinsons sale.  Even more amazing, he held up beautifully breeding cows in eastern Colorado.

Gibbs Farms was kind enough to let us use Black Ice as spring calving natural service sire on a group of Angus SuperMamas.  He is a proven homozygous black, homozygous polled, purebred Simmental Dakota son.  He sired one of Lorna’s favorite sire groups in the Gibbs Farms 2010 Production Sale.  He sires progeny that are big ribbed, soft made with above average muscle and stoutness.  His progeny are moderate framed, super sound and free moving.  He has a wonderful attitude, great feet, and big testicles.  We think they will be ideal for enhancing performance and convenience traits in our low input environment.
