Marshall Cattle Company is made up of Troy and Lorna Marshall, along with our three children, Wyatt, Justis, and Wynn. We have been active in the cattle business all of our lives. In fact, MCC is actually older than our marriage, as Lorna and I bought our first Angus cow together, GDAR Primrose Lady 810, a week before we exchanged our wedding vows in August 1992. Troy was born and raised in Wheatland, Wyoming and graduated from Colorado State while Lorna grew up on a registered Simmental operation in Valley Center, Kansas and went to Kansas State. We met in graduate school at CSU. After getting our formal education, we enrolled in the school called the "real world". Troy was employed by Cattle-Fax as a market analyst covering various regions of the country and then by breed associations as their Director of Commercial Marketing. Lorna worked with the performance, commercial marketing, and youth programs at another breed association in Denver before moving to ABS Global. All the while, we had been building our Angus herd, focusing on quality over quantity. By 1999, our family was growing and our cowherd numbers had expanded, and we fulfilled our lifelong dream of purchasing our own ranch, "the perfect place" in Burlington, CO. Our experience growing up in the beef industry, along with our educations, and employment opportunities have given us a real world handle on the beef industry. Currently, we run approximately 250 head of Angus and Angus x Simmental females and have several cooperator herds. In addition, we put in approximately 50 embryos per year. Troy also writes for the Beef Cow/Calf Weekly while Lorna is the North American Beef Account Manager for Genex/CRI. At MCC, we are dedicated to building long-term relationships that are enjoyable and yield profits for our customers. We have been truly blessed to be able to live our dreams, to have neighbors and friends like we do, and to have the best group of customers in the world. In the end, we hope to make the beef industry better, to preserve rural America and ensure a thriving and viable industry for our children and customers. |
